UDAD 2018 Mixed Use

Thaxton And Associates Office And Retail Building by Griffin Enright Architects

This office building, a renovation to an owner-occupied building, engages the community with a dynamic street presence. Located on a busy thoroughfare, the design activates the exterior presence of the building with glazing to connect it with the neighborhood. Each office has a window that is shaped to direct views back to the street, strengthening the connection to the neighborhood from the perspective of the building inhabitants.

The dynamic, protruding windows are related to the movement of traffic, while setting up views to the mountains. This renovation creates a new landmark for the community that is open, progressive, and lively.
