Rua da Costa is a narrow street that runs through the historical center of the city of Vila do Conde, in Portugal.
In the place we found only the empty walls, without the interior that was already demolished, by the abandonment of several years in a row. Only the wild vegetation that occupied the space lived in the house.
The project has the objective of creating two duplex apartments for rent to young couples, however, we try to keep the image of a small old house.
The facades seek to recover the existing design, we kept the wooden frames, the granite stone frames and the tile roof. In the back garden we have in the backyard a small annex to support the apartment on the lower floor, surrounded by the stone walls of granite, typical in the region.
The first apartment develops on the ground floor and on the second floor. The other apartment develops in the middle of the second floor and in the use of the basement of the penthouse.
