The home unfolds along a north–south axis, organically separating public and private realms while creating a dual narrative of “flow and breath. ” In the public area, the play of light and shadow connects living, dining, and kitchen spaces into a fluid multifunctional setting. Private areas are defined by restrained materiality and orchestrated sightlines, cultivating a composed yet dynamic rhythm of living.
In the integrated living and dining area, a palette of warm greige sets a calm tone. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the Qiantang River skyline, while natural and artificial light creates a nuanced, shifting atmosphere throughout the day. Low sofas enclose an intimate interaction area, anchored by green-veined stone coffee tables and a beige carpet, achieving tactile and visual harmony that embodies the philosophy of “function as aesthetics.” The openness extends into the Western kitchen and dining area, where a deep-green stone island becomes the social hub. Above, undulating pendant lamps cast shifting play of light and shadow, infusing everyday life with a quiet sense of ritual.
In the master suite, curved light-gray walls extend the spatial dimension, while full-height cabinets and mirrored surfaces enhance visual depth. Sunlight filters gently through the side window, bathing the room in a soft glow. Circulation between the walk-in closet and bathroom balances efficiency with aesthetics. The discreetly concealed study offers a contemplative retreat, where textured beige walls play with dark timber shelves, and a round stone table with leather seating creates a serene retreat for reflection.
Through its spatial order, material authenticity, and poetic use of light, the project responds to contemporary aspirations for dwelling—a seamless fusion of function and aesthetics, offering a sanctuary for modern living.
