We always strive for design that is simple yet rich in artistic conception, much like classical poetry. With just a few lines, poetry holds musical rhythm, boundless imagery, and lasting mood. As one of the most splendid literary forms from our predecessors, the imagery and artistic conception within poetry can be abstractly translated by designers into beautiful spatial experiences.

For a recent mountain-side project, where the client desired the “beauty of mountain dwelling,” we drew inspiration from Tang dynasty poet Wang Wei’s “Autumn Evening in the Mountains.” The poem paints a serene, picturesque scene after rain in a mountain village at dusk—bright moon through pines, clear streams over stones. These specific images were reinterpreted by us into spatial composition, atmosphere, and aesthetic, creating a tranquil, poetic mountain retreat that allows residents to fully immerse themselves in its quietude.
