Environmental Sensitivity & Sustainability
Working with the site’s natural landforms and processes, the design emphasises ecological preservation and climate resilience. Over 40% of the existing forest has been preserved—including over 200 mature trees up to 20 metres tall—as an ecological backbone supporting habitat continuity and biodiversity. Additionally, over 45% of the site has undergone ecological rehabilitation through Forest Restoration and Selective Forest Repair, enhancing forest structure, ecosystem functions and native species regeneration.
Forest Restoration and Rehabilitation
Restoring biodiversity and safeguarding the site’s genetic heritage, over 2,500 harvested saplings—nurtured during early interventions—have been reintegrated into the design, ensuring an environmentally responsible approach, towards circular ecology. Complementing this, approximately 7,000 Southeast Asian trees and palms have been planted, strengthening the canopy and supporting long-term resilience.
Adventure for All
Designed for nature-lovers, families and adventure-seekers, Rainforest Wild ASIA offers immersive trails, elevated walkways and habitat experiences that connect people with nature. Blending education, exploration and conservation, the park creates meaningful rainforest engagement for all generations.
The diverse network of trails accommodates mobility of all levels, from gentle walks to adrenaline-fuelled routes through elevated paths, forest treks, streams and karst formations, the design makes the rainforest accessible to everyone, foregrounding the belief that adventure knows no limits.
Designed for People & Wildlife
At Rainforest Wild ASIA, nature leads and design follows. Shaded rest areas, dense canopies and flowing streams create a naturally cooled microclimate, enhancing wellbeing for visitors and wildlife. Guided by animal care specialists, plant toxicity research and a habitat-specific selection framework, animal habitats support natural behaviours, ecological authenticity and animal health.
Eco-Connectivity
Adjacent to the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, the park strengthens ecological linkages through wildlife corridors planted with arboreal and fauna-attracting species, aiding multi-layered habitat movement that boosts species resilience and genetic diversity while reducing fragmentation and urban edge effects.
Aligned with Singapore’s “City in Nature” vision, it promotes biophilic urbanism, biodiversity, sustainable tourism and awareness of protecting Asia’s tropical forests amidst deforestation and climate change.
Collaborative Stewardship for Long-Term Vision
As part of Mandai Rejuvenation Project, the park’s design is guided by environmental assessments, stakeholder engagement and planning controls prioritising ecological protection and community benefit. Partnerships with conservation groups and experts steer long-term conservation, biodiversity monitoring and sustainable land management to safeguard our rainforests for future generations.
A Model for the Future
A landmark placemaking initiative with over 900,000 visitors projected in its first year, the park exemplifies how conservation, education, immersive design, ecological integrity and a strong sense of place can come together to inspire care for the environment, community and future generations.
