Second Award | Aux · Flora Bloom | Jumu Landscape Design

The site is located in the Jiangshan section of Yinzhou District, Ningbo City, and the demonstration site is in the middle of the Yinnan Flower Sea. The on-site Huahai Park gave the designer great inspiration of Monet’s painting “Yagadu Flower Field”, the representative figure of Impressionist painter. The site’s floral landscape provides a high-quality urban interface and it is the starting point for the whole design. Under the theme of “Flowery Garden, Poetic Garden”, the red-orange columbine and the rosy-red chrysanthemum, spread out under the sky, resemble like sparkling river of stars. The surrounding river isolate this land, the willow near the river bank and the lotus in the pond overlap their lush green layers as if they are mistakenly stepped into a secret lands.

Ningbo city, with a long history, its elegant and simple-life aesthetics has been blended into the blood and bones. Dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties, Yinzhou, as the “poetry of the hometown”, standing in the long history of the city. Mingzhou people’s pursuit of beautiful art has long been rooted in this ancient city.

The demonstration site is not large. From the entrance of the municipal center to demonstration site, and then to the flower sea, the designer transforms the single color landscape space to the secret garden in the backyard step by step ,through the transformation space of the demonstration area. At the same time, it enhances the attraction of the city landscape.

The enclosed white walls cover the sea of flowers, so that people will not directly enter the colorful flower sea. The simple relationship between the horizontal and vertical lines reflects the division of space. Under the background of natural plants, the white wall is like a canvas, which projects the light and shadow of trees, flowers and plants, giving rise to a sense of tranquility.

The exhibition center serves as a transition, connecting two different landscape spaces. After removing the superfluous colors of pure courtyard space, we can see the colorful flower sea landscape in the backyard.

The demonstration site light adopts the form of embedded light belt to emphasize the line of the wall at night. On the other hand, linear lighting can break the sealing feeling of large area wall. The details of folding surface and metal edge of corner make the plain wall pure but not too boring. The lighting of the whole courtyard is designed to be soft, and the light and shadow is created by the reflection of plants and water surface.

The architectural design of this project is modern, elegant, fashionable and noble. he overall bright and generous design gives people a feeling of simplicity and elegance. The designer adapts measures to local conditions and makes full use of the characteristics of the flower sea on site. It solves the contradiction between urban architecture and the sudden flower sea, and brings people a distinctive city backyard.
