The Post Oak Development is located in the heart of the dynamic business, shopping, entertainment and dining center of the Galleria area in Houston, Texas. The
mixed-use hotel, residential and retail development is situated on approximately 2.05 acres in the middle of Post Oak Boulevard (the Rodeo drive of Houston), between
San Felipe and Westheimer. The site is highly visible, so naturally the design team was tasked to design a building that would make a statement and introduce something
new to the city of Houston.

The design is unlike anything else in Houston and the building feeds off the energy, excitement and glamour of the bustling Galleria area. Multiple levels of outdoor
promenades and green spaces offer a peaceful setting to relax in the cooler months while covered walkways and shaded glass storefronts cater to an outdoor shopping experience year-round, even in the excruciatingly hot summer months. The goal of the building’s design is to change the dynamic of Houston and deliver the indoor/outdoor lifestyle that is so coveted in other parts of the country while creating a destination in and of itself.
Current plans are in place for a 40-story mixed-use development consisting of an approximately 142,000sf hotel operated under a 5-star luxury brand with about 125
keys, approximately 465,000sf of residential space including about 295 units and private amenity spaces, approximately 30,000sf of retail and 7 levels of parking totaling
approximately 255,000sf.
Lobby: The hotel lobby is the heart of the development– the ultimate outdoor living room. Guests meander through follies of trees and park benches retreating underneath the canopy of leaves for private conversation or rendezvous. A warm glow of light from within the building sharply penetrates the arcade enticing guests to follow. Sheathed in a woven screen, the stair façade hangs like a giant loom spinning beautifully woven craft into the plaza below. Illuminated from inside, guests become silhouettes on display to the living room plaza.
The (“Firepit”) Lounge: Inside a virtual canopy of trees beneath a conceptual sky composed of scattered star lights, guests plug in and work by day and unwind and nestle with lovers by night. The lights come together at a point forming a three dimensional constellation that falls into the living room below. As evening comes, crystal tables dotting the living room start to glow and a wash of light appears from under the benches. Above, column lights meet the ceiling and the stair starts to shimmer beneath the woven
screen. Structures define the space but allow views through the lobby allowing interaction between guests, events and the building’s natural energy.
