The client is an internet industry professional, brimming with curiosity and a boundless imagination about the universe and galaxies. When designing this villa nestled amidst the mountains in downtown Shenzhen, the designer seamlessly integrated the homeowner’s personality, professional attributes, and hobbies to establish an unconventional and unrestricted design theme – a home on Mars. Building upon the existing structure, the columns were reinforced and enhanced, and a comprehensive design overhaul was undertaken, encompassing the exterior facade, gardens, and interior spaces. The aim was to maximize the spaces, creating a seamless design approach that bridges different dimensions of points, lines, and planes. Curved elements were employed to emphasize the home’s softness and inclusivity, while the textured gray mud simulated the Martian surface environment. Stainless steel materials, flying saucers, and lunar motifs were incorporated to infuse the space with a futuristic ambiance.

The ground floor serves as the communal area, housing the living room, kitchen, and dining room. The second floor comprises a suite for the children, featuring a sleeping area, study room, and bathroom within a three-room structure, providing diverse living scenarios. Additionally, a water bar area was introduced in the public space for the convenience of family members during the evening time. The third floor primarily caters to the homeowner and his wife, encompassing the master bedroom, main bathroom, study room, and wardrobe. The negative first-floor functions as a reception area. Taking into account structural limitations, HongYiYuan Design ingeniously integrated the existing columns to create an elongated suspended marble personalized bar counter. The surface of the stone wall lamp in the bar area bears the engraved texture of shimmering planets, while the curved pendant lights and wall light strips follow the trajectory of stars, and the spherical floor lamp in the reception room ascends like a radiant moon. The home seemingly morphs into a universe, inviting interstellar exploration.

HongYiYuan Design has always placed an unwavering focus on the individual, transforming their imaginative ideas into tangible realities that fulfill the homeowner’s aspirations for a better life. It allows each family member to discover their utmost state of comfort within, radiating positive energy outward, while continuously delving inward to explore and attain spiritual fulfillment and inner richness.
