Polpas includes 55,000 m2 of retail and 80,000 m2 of office space providing a new type of eat/shop/work venue integrating art, sports, and leisure. With its wide range of services, the complex will bring an international feel to the area and will be a welcome destination for local and international visitors alike.

Project Concept:

The main goal for Concept i was to design a vibrant shopping mall, creating an up-scale, leading edge, experiential retail, food, and social destination. The mall is a forum for meeting and socializing, a gallery of new ideas and relaxing environments. A social hub to share spaces celebrating nature, art, culture and technology.

The concept of the interior design is to bring nature from outside to inside and create gardens from international to interpersonal; establishing a ‘Leisure Lifestyle’ shopping mall. The interior style takes inspiration from Chinese nature and classical gardens, infusing ideas such as “Garden of Knowledge” and “Butterfly Garden” into beautiful atriums, seating terraces and social spaces. The relationship of the Sky Garden all the way down to B1 F&B was inspired by the butterfly and its movements – creating the smooth and flowing lines of the shopping mall spaces. This is complimented by the butterfly’s symbolism, creating a happy and romantic atmosphere throughout. The materiality encompasses natural stone flooring, wooden fins, and satin-finish back painted glass for the columns, to create a warm and welcoming environment.

The project’s soft opening was on January 5th 2024, where it welcomed visitors to the mall for the first time to enjoy nature, art, food and socializing.
