The site is strategically located near prominent spiritual and cultural destinations, such as Ambaji Temple, Vadnagar, and the Modhera Sun Temple, all within 100 kilometers. Designed tobe a central anchor connecting all these sites into a cohesive tourism circuit for North Gujarat, Dharoi benefits from its central location, picturesque natural setting with a large water body, andexpansive developable land. This multi-thematic destination will not only bolster spiritual, cultural, and nature-based tourism but also establish Dharoi as the premier hub for Eco and Adventure Tourism in North Gujarat.

The masterplan proposes a unique “Panch Tatva” (Five Elements of Nature) Botanical Garden, along with a Adventure Water Sports Arena and a High Street designed with cues from the local architecture from Sidhpur. A Tribal Village, representing the unique culture of the tribes of Aravallis, and the Polo Club & Resort, celebrating the Polo heritage of the region bring in the distinctive convergence between culture and adventure themes. Along with these, Wellness and Naturopathy Retreat, Convention Centre and variety of other hospitality elements shall offeran experiential comfort to the visitors.

PANCH TATVA PARK

The PANCH TATVA PARK spanning across 130 acres is envisaged as a signature intervention presenting a unique symbiosis of culture and nature. The park spans across both the banks of the 21 acres on the right bank and over 100 acres on the left bank of the river Sabarmati. Tourists begin their journey at the Visitor Centre on the right bank and cross over to the left, where thematic spaces representing the five elements: earth, water, wind, sun, and sky in five zones are designed as unique indoor and outdoor galleries. Each gallery has an iconicsculpture representing the theme and offers varied immersive experiences into the play between elements of nature and everyday life.

This intervention aims to create a landmark nature-based destination, setting a standard for eco-conscious waterfront tourism. It seeks to balance nature, people, and the environment, positioning the botanical garden as a sustainable, culturally enriching tourist destination.

ADVENTURE WATER SPORTS ARENA

The Adventure Water Sports Arena at Dharoi Reservoir is designed to leverage the site’s natural terrain, spanning 43 acres of green space. The design includes submergible terraces and walkways that adapt to fluctuating water levels, enhancing the visitor experience. Integrated forest trails, riparian zones, and water-resilient landscapes blend seamlessly with the natural environment.

To support tourism, strategically located cafés and amenities will offer views of the arena, reservoir, and the Aravali Mountains. Over 2 kilometers of walkways will feature seatingareas, observation decks, and open gardens, promoting relaxation and recreation. The combination of rock formations, water features, and diverse landscapes offers an ideal environment for both peaceful relaxation and water-based activities. Additionally, strategically located land parcels surrounding the arena will attract private investment, fostering the development of accommodation facilities and establishing the area as a premier tourism destination.

BREATHABLE RIVERFRONT LANDSCAPE

The riverfront design at Dharoi harmonizes with the site’s hydrology, dam discharges, and geo-morphological features, creating a seamless interaction between nature and human activity. Breathable engineered walls with gabions will manage flash discharges, enhance biodiversity, and support ecological balance, benefiting both the environment and the visitor experience. Boating, walking, and cycling facilities will allow visitors to explore the river and its surroundings from a unique perspective. Blending nature-based engineering with eco-sensitive design principles, the riverfront offers diverse landscapes and recreational spaces. Strategically placed public plazas, seating areas, and promenades will encourage relaxation and foster connections with the river’s natural beauty. This sustainable, eco-friendly design creates a vibrant, welcoming space for all visitors, promoting environmental stewardship and enhancing the overall visitor experience.
