2025 IID 🏆 Awards

Gold Winner – MASTER LU INDUSTRY OFFICE | POWERPARK INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT GROUP

Henan Master Lu Food Co., Ltd, a modern food company that encompasses R&D, manufacturing, sales, and logistics, envisioned its new headquarters and showroom as a space where tradition meets innovation. Drawing from its legacy in traditional food craftsmanship, the design distills cultural symbols and reinterprets them through a minimalist lens. The concept centers on the poetic rhythm of lunar phases, offering a spatial experience that resonates with both cultural depth and contemporary sensibilities. The space is inspired by the moon, the most symbolic element of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the four phases it undergoes throughout a lunar month: crescent, first quarter, last quarter, and full moon. These natural transitions are reimagined using a modern minimalist aesthetic – defined by clean lines, pure tones, and translucent textures. A balance of deep black and airy glass creates an atmosphere that feels both technologically forward and elegantly refined. By combining the showroom and office into one cohesive space, the design allows the company to present its brand identity and product strengths to the outside world, while also creating a comfortable, productive workspace for employees. This integrated approach strengthens both brand image and operational growth.

The MASTER LU INDUSTRY OFFICE project adopts a modern minimalist design style as its foundation, using clean lines, geometric spatial layouts, and functional design techniques to create a sleek and refined environment. Building on this, elements of Eastern culture are integrated. Specifically, the four phases of the moon (crescent, first quarter, last quarter, and full moon) as a visual centerpiece. These traditional Mid-Autumn Festival symbols are subtly embedded in the modern setting, creating a unique dialogue between the past and the present. Black, symbolizing the night and aligning with the moon phase concept, is widely used on walls, floors, and furniture to create a refined, high-end atmosphere. Its depth brings a sense of mystery and calm. To balance the visual weight, glass materials introduce transparency and reflection. Glass partitions, metal display shelves, and mirrored ceilings help expand the space visually while reflecting light to add a sense of lightness and flow. Projection mapping, paired with smart lighting, introduces both interactivity and a futuristic atmosphere, turning the exhibition hall into a space that integrates display, experience, and work. During the Mid-Autumn story presentation, colorful visuals (like golden lanterns, red palace walls, and green bamboo) are projected onto a black backdrop. The dynamic changes in light and color create striking contrast, making the cultural narrative immersive and engaging.
