In the overall space planning of the art museum, the WAD design team used combination of connecting space and landscape of the original building, abandoned the central open main entrance, and planned a semi-outdoor corridor to transition from the hustle and bustle of the city through the connecting space. Outdoor landscaping creates a closer connection. It presents a sense of progressive order, allowing people inside to integrate with the environment during the tour, just like entering the hall of an old mansion, forming a field for communication and dialogue with this historical district. The interior space and functional organization of the museum draw inspiration from the open plane layout of the 19th Fifth Avenue block, extending a number of changable and flexible interactive group lines, in which various themes are interspersed, combining furnishings and exhibits to form a unique and fascinating immersive experience. The rich decorative elements in some famous mansions on the Fifth Avenue contain many stories, such as beautifully carved wallboards, wooden doors, fireplaces, iron railings with grass patterns, etched glass with classical craftsmanship, and so on.

It is strongly told with a very romantic feature. The red in the space is particularly dazzling, blending into the elegant black and white tone base, using simple spatial lines to express the quintessential and personal design vocabulary. The details of the furnishings create a comfortable artistic conception. Roaming in the art museum, retro floor parquet with Cathedral glass, painted warm and moist walls all form strong visual symbols to be transformed into visual moving lines, creating an extremely harmonious feast of shape and color.
