The clear and shimmering water is the best, and the misty rain on the mountains is also unique. There are many scenic spots in West Lake, but the drizzle adds a touch of elegance to the lake and blends the mountains with the sky and lake water. It is the rain that creates a unique scenery in West Lake. The Mandolin restaurant, rooted in the mountains of West Lake, has entered the bustling city for the first time. The new store is located in a shopping center and is designed with the genes of West Lake scenery. The old store’s impression of rain in the West Lake mountains is taken as the design theme of the new store, creating a spatial experience of memory and sensory connection.

The green stone steps on the ground of the entrance area create a sense of ceremony for climbing the door. Climbing up the steps is a bamboo forest path formed by lamp posts and fern clusters. The faint light leaks out from the forest and encounters the swaying light and shadow of water mist on the mottled stone walls. Passing through the forest is the house with eaves and rain curtains. The water curtains flow into the pool, forming a misty rain scene of West Lake. The light and shadow are misty, and the mist is misty. Walking slowly in it, it feels like walking on the edge of West Lake where the mist rises in the rain. The courtyard serves as a dining area, and as you step into it, the floor and grey cobblestone walls connect with each other, creating a distant and nostalgic beauty. The corrugated stainless steel is like a shimmering water illusion on the lake. The translucent partition resembles a view of a home through a flower window, revealing the essence of humanity through warm yellow lights and shadows. The walls are gray and white as a continuation of the architectural memory, and the mirrored ceiling blurs the physical boundaries of the space. Like a mountain rain, the landscape of West Lake forms a single color, and the hazy luster blurs the color of the times. It is difficult to distinguish the flow of time. The hazy beauty of Jiangnan forms a distant and nostalgic beauty, and the natural texture of natural stone reflects subtle light and shadow, weaving a rich and dynamic spatial aesthetics.
Floating light captures shadows, water shadows create illusions, blending old Japanese and American learning with current life scenery. In the exquisite adaptation of the scenery, the unique poetic and dynamic beauty of space is activated between the virtual and the real in the overlap of the old and the new.
