2025 UDAD 🏆 Awards

Gold Winner | Shenzhen Tianji Nanshan Rongxing block office industrial complex design | Fanpu (Shenzhen) Architectural Design Co., Ltd.

The project is located within Nanshan District, Shenzhen. As a pioneering example of an office industrial complex, the architectural design is founded on four principles, a forward-looking approach, integration with nature, a focus on humanistic values, and an interaction with the city. The noticeable visual identity of the design is evident in its unconventional geometric forms and asymmetrical facade, allowing the entire structure to prominently stand out from the urban skyline. This design approach arises from an accurate comprehension of the varied requirements of commercial office spaces in the post-pandemic period, where notable shifts in work habits and office settings have prompted a move towards sustainable, eco-friendly offices and energy-efficient buildings.

Transcending the limitations of a conventional homogeneous office structure, this design promotes a layered and interconnected arrangement of functional areas. This approach results in a multi-layered open space system covering office environments, vibrant areas, eco-sharing zones, public spaces, and commercial facilities. By employing a technique that interweaves and folds forms and spaces, the ecological shared space is integrated across various levels, contributing to the convergence of work and life, the interplay between office and leisure, and the linkage between business and style.
The terraced design of the building constitutes a three-dimensional urban forest, mitigating the oppressive visual impact of adjacent structures. The elevated and recessed design of the ground floor not only liberates the space at the ground level and brings more public benefits, but also establishes an iconic urban plaza through the use of glasses-free 3D.

The project further weakens height disparities on the site, expands the underground commercial areas, and introduces an open covered bridge park with double ground floors, in order to accommodate a vibrant urban lifestyle and stimulate urban vitality. The design not only addresses the challenges posed by modern urban architecture, but also infuses the city with renewed life and potentials.
