Located in Wujiang District, Suzhou, the project is arranged along the coast of East Taihu Lake and on the south side of the new levee of Taihu Lake, enjoying top lake view resources and aiming to build a comprehensive hospitality center integrating enterprise exhibition and office. As the project is located in the ancient cultural city of Suzhou, it implants the unique local culture of the city into the design. As a result, it becomes a city signature with Suzhou characteristics and a landmark building promoting the cultural image of the city by the Taihu Bay.

Suzhou is the hometown of silk. In order to promote the uniqueness of Suzhou’s local culture, the project refines the artistic image features of silk to create a “floating corridor” that is soft and elegant like silk, bringing a very iconic visual focus for the overall architecture. Under the premise of ensuring that the viewing field is not affected, the corridor uses two-way gradated glazed glass to highlight its elegant and soft image. At night, when the changing light is projected on the gradient glaze dots, it creates the effect of gorgeous silk floating on the bank of Taihu Lake.
In terms of space construction, the “pavilions and corridors” of Suzhou gardens are used as a source of inspiration. In the building, a circular corridor with a 360° all-round viewing Angle overlooking Taihu Lake is arranged, bringing people the ultimate experience of “working by the lake”. The corridor located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the building, along with the shared large steps across the façade turning, provide a unique open office space for the office crowd to share and communicate, so as to stimulate the creativity of the new generation of employees and increase the vitality of the space.
The various “boxes” scattered at the approachable scale contrast with the large scale of the floating corridor, and different curtain wall forms are used to form a rich and unified overall image. On the first floor, taking the “exhibition in the forest” as the design starting point, the project uses wood and metal imitation tree components to create a highly ecological experience of the enterprise exhibition hall. The highly transparent glass material is used to weaken the sense of boundary of the building, so that the exhibition hall presents the spatial feeling of being surrounded by the landscape and realizes the spatial concept of “exhibition in the forest”. The highly transparent glass allows the warm wood-like feel of the interior to be displayed and achieves the contrast between cold and warm texture, bringing about an overall image of harmony, unity and variability.
Surrounded by nature, the building can enjoy the Taihu Lake in the distance and the lush green nearby. It is an ecological office exhibition center with Suzhou features that emphasizes sharing and opening and integration with nature, and allows “working by the lake and exhibition in the forest”.
