ARCHITECTURE
The Stellar is inspired by the sparkling sugar crystals history of sugar refinery businesses near Chun Yeung Street to develop the new hotel façade which resembles the form of sugar cube by taking the cube shaped geometry into repetition.
Two prominent cubes form a key visual feature at street level, which functionally serves as the main entrance at GF and the distinct double ceiling lobby lounge at 1F. This architectural language is continued at the hotel tower and break down the otherwise monolithic glass façade into cube shaped shimmering fragments that stand out from this local neighbourhood.
As the light and shadow cast by the building change with the angle of view, dancing on the curtain wall are mesmerising reflections of century-old trams passing by gracefully amid the hustle and bustle. The crystal story continues with the interior to complete the seamless architecture design for guests to savour a stellar hospitality experience.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Guestrooms
While the interior design sought to continue the “sugar cube” journey from exterior to interior by re-emphasizing the cube geometry e.g. the furniture and feature light design; the fundamental principles of design concept lie within creating a soothing and calming atmosphere for the hotel guests.
Colour and pattern of the nature, such as wood is adopted at the guestroom entrance foyer and bedroom area, this sense of softness and harmony is also carried onto the selection of soft fabric for loose furniture such as stool and sofa. A juxtaposing feature wall, with light shimmers in the textured paint which strategically positioned at the centre is the focal point of the guestroom design and progresses to complete the journey of “sugar crystal” from exterior to interior.
1F Lounge
The double ceiling Lounge is a prominent architectural expression, it features a 7m tall glass wall which gives a strong visual connection between the interior and the exterior. The Lounge also serves as a multipurpose area for the hotel guests.
The spatial arrangement and interior design caters for these diverse functions, with lounge sofas and coffee table nearer to the reception area gives more privacy and decorated to create a welcoming ambience.
Common Pantry
The Common Pantry is fully furnished with self-serving cooking stations and is designed to make the cooking experience comfortable, convenient and enjoyable.
Gym Fitted with mirror finish ceiling and vinyl carpet wall pattern this petit gym embodies the essence of energy and positivity of a fitness facility. The mirror ceiling and natural lighting brightens up and amplify the gym room; the gym-goers could enjoy an exhilarating training session with well-equipped fitness equipment.
