The project is a low-density community composed of 16 residential buildings, with a plot ratio of 1.69. It will provide 522 finished dwelling units, the area of which range from 150m2 to 180m2. The project is “people-oriented” and starts off from the perspectives of science and humanity. Various functional public and indoor spaces are rationally configured to meet the requirements of residents for functional use and psychological comfort, thereby enhancing the overall quality of the community, and creating a “homely” atmosphere.
The overall layout is based on the north-south landscape axis and extends from the east to the west. Two buildings are placed on both sides of the central axis, enlarging the courtyard on the central landscape area. The central axis adopts the concept of a Chinese garden, and connects to the central waterscape at the north entrance, as well as the reception hall and several landscapes all the way to the south entrance in a progressive manner. Through the arrangement of the corridor, people moving along the central axis are able to enjoy different views at each step.
The facade is a combination of long balconies and horizontal lines. It highlights the pure and elegant characteristics of the entire building complex. Space limitations are formed by the use of materials such as panels, overhangs and metal components. The upper part is painted with lacquer finish, and the base is partially decorated with stone materials. Architectural details are added at the scale friendly to people. Refined traditional Chinese elements, massive eaves, exquisite facade proportions and detailed approaches, make the building seems to be lighter, slimmer, and with a sense of modernity, to achieve a high-standard quality and realize the harmonious symbiosis of modernity and tradition.
The facade adopts metal lattice elements in each layer of lacquer finish. This mainly include the medium gray lattice system, light triangular metal floating eaves, dark grey metal grilles, dark gray metal roof, dark gray metal floating eaves lattice structure, increasing a layered sense in details. The horizontal lines are exquisite and smooth, transforming complexity into simplicity. The building is modern and stylish.
Continuous balconies are chosen, and the depth of the balconies is increased. Also, a continuous small eave is added to the outer edge of the balconies to increase the sequential layers of the lattice. Square aluminum alloy components are used as a metaphor for the lattice system of classic Chinese architecture. The traditional concept of tenon-and-mortise is used to form a concise “cross” ending. These steel components are slender and straight to the point, subtly implying the Oriental experience of the residents, and adding layers and details to the overall shape of the building.
