The project is located in Chenghua District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and its main function is to be the exhibition center of the North Lake Future Park Community. The practice and exploration of Chengdu has moved from “building parks around the city” to “developing around parks” and further to “integrating parks and the city” to fully realize the construction of park city, among which the North Lake Future Park Community is one of the first 25 demonstration sites of future park community in Chengdu. The project covers a site area of about 2,000 square meters and a floor area of about 2,500 square meters. Located on the peninsula between the large and small lakes of North Lake Park, it means “North Lake Scroll” and looks like floating on the lake, becoming a striking water landmark of the city and the park lake side.

Growth layout: The layout presents a cellular growth structure that integrates with the environment and is composed of separable and joinable units, which can flexibly meet the future needs and form the metabolism of the building and the park city. The interior courtyard, light and greening allow nature to be integrated into the building space, realizing an architectural space where people and nature coexist in harmony.

Integration with nature: Inside, exhibition spaces and coffee and tea rooms are arranged around the light hall and green courtyard, while on the second floor there is a water-friendly terrace open to the lake. After the exhibition, visitors can come to the roof garden to enjoy the green space with planted plants and the garden for rest, and overlook the panoramic view of the whole North Lake Park.

Concept: Nature and culture coexist and develop together, architectural image with a sense of growth is integrated with cultural characteristics.

Materials: The picture of the “North Lake Scroll” is composed of 15 huge white FRP curtains, the largest of which reaches 17 meters in height, and the beautiful enframed scenery of the North Lake is formed inside. At night, they will become a screen for media display, bringing a beautiful night scene of North Lake Park. The rest of the complex molding is done by UHPC.
