As a large enterprise group providing all-round solutions for energy conservation and environmental protection, CONCH VENTURE takes energy conservation, environmental protection, new building materials and port logistics as its leading industries. The rapid development of enterprise production lines requires the increasing growth of research and development space, so the CONCH VENTURE CENTER comes into being. The CONCH VENTURE CENTER will soon be built in Jiading, Shanghai, with a full-function closed-loop connecting the core headquarters, the supporting industries of the headquarters and the affiliated enterprises of the headquarters. It will provide one-stop space for scientific research, office, exhibition and experiment for the environmental protection industry.

The headquarters building is located on the south side of the entire park, the east side and the south side are close to the urban roads, and the north side embraces the core wetland landscape of the park. Based on this, the entrance on the south side of the building is created as an ecological landscape frame to echo the interior landscape and enhance the integration of the city and the park. Drawing inspiration from the outline of Conch Mountain, the design integrates functions to create the form of headquarters layers and introduces the concept of sail to endow CONCH VENTURE with the beautiful vision of “setting sail”. From an urban perspective, the project brings a powerful entrance overhang and a visually stunning naked eye 3D transparent screen. At the same time, the entrance also extracts the triangle symbol in the logo of CONCH VENTURE to highlight the details of the brand culture, thus clearly indicating the brand image of CONCH VENTURE.
To meet the environmental protection features of CONCH VENTURE, ecology is put in the first place in the design. The design creates four headquarters ecological layers from top to bottom – the cloud R&D ecological layer, the alpine woodland innovation layer, the meadow vitality innovation layer and the valley spatial connection layer. The ecological pattern of the headquarters building is realized through the vertical connection of the multi-level hanging garden, which provides employees with an unbounded space for intimate interaction with nature after work. Meanwhile, the atrium space through the upper and lower levels can effectively improve the indoor natural lighting and ventilation and regulate the “microclimate” inside the building.
The facade incorporates a modern and simple design vocabulary with a “design every millimeter” quality, which creates a clean and complete urban interface for the building and allows pedestrians to observe the gradually varied design details, creating a sensory experience with warmth. The fiber cement board developed by CONCH VENTURE is used as the interior material to ensure the energy conservation and environment protection of the interior decoration and to display CONCH’s creative products.
On the plot located on the north side of the park, the single-building R&D office building and the industry support form a “one-stop” space, and the public space is used to activate the place to create a composite open community suitable for living, dwelling and recreation. The design focuses on the relevant industrial service with the “super smart ring”, involving the technology research and development center, the talent cultivation center, the listed company incubation center and the international operation platform, which are interconnected through the air corridor. A variety of office products are developed and adaptable office spaces are created to meet different business needs. The architects hope to achieve win-win cooperation through industrial agglomeration and strong association within the park to improve the efficiency of the park and promote sustainable development.
