Located in the center of Shanghai Zhangjiang Science City, the project is at the intersection of Kangqiao Public Center, the comprehensive living area and the industrial area. With biomedical industry as its core, it aims to create a new urban business card and a high-quality green ecological park in the future core area of Kangqiao, so as to display the interface image of Kangqiao, assume the greening ecological functions and provide diversified public supporting services for the surrounding residents. The layout of the tower group on the site is spread out in a stepped pattern towards the height of the light rail line, and the plan layout is fanned out to maximize the impact of noise on the high-rise towers and enhance the presentation of the plot to the urban interface. The overall design style is simple, elegant and modern. The building facade corresponds to the landscape, functional space, etc., showing a rational and controlled design strategy and a sense of rhythm and technology.

There are 12 meters high viaduct on the west and south sides of the project, which bring good sight without obstruction. The building height becomes higher and higher from south to north, forming a rhythmic skyline. The highly recognizable landmark building faces the viaduct, strengthening the image display of the plot to the urban interface. The arc elements and volume cutting techniques enrich the space, the building presents an organic natural form that grows freely like petals, and the staggered forms create sky garden terraces with different orientations. The complex and varied forms and simple and neat exterior surface balance the levels of the building, enhance the sense of sculpture and power, and creates a simple, dynamic and highly recognizable urban image.

The high-rise building uses a hidden openable window to ensure the orderly effect of the facade. The vertical rod and the glass are separated by 70mm, and the wind can enter from the gaps on both sides without perforation, which is convenient for maintenance and replacement. Without affecting the appearance, the relatively hidden interface of the multi-story building combined with the freight gate to add the glass equipment hoisting hole. The side hung hoisting hole adopts the inward openable design to achieve simple opening and closing operation and can be used repeatedly. In terms of interior design, the 11-meter-high double-story cantilevered lobby with exquisite steel curtain wall system minimizes the boundary between the interior and the exterior, allowing the green landscape of the central courtyard to gently penetrate into the interior, thus providing a transparent panoramic view. The flexible and smooth fillet architectural language can create a warm and elegant building facade.

The sustainable design of the project is mainly reflected in the following aspects. Green roof: maximize the greening rate of the multi-story roofing to beautify the fifth facade, cool the outdoor environment, reduce energy consumption, and increase biodiversity; Garden in the air: with a modern and technological atmosphere as the keynote, the design provides workers with an excellent place for recreation, relaxation and thinking through gardens in the air with different levels and different characteristics, creating a green, aerobic and pleasant inspiration space; Photovoltaic facilities on the roof: the proportion of solar photovoltaic area on the roof of this project is about 30%, which integrates with the building roof shape are arranged above the roof frame to shield the construction equipment below the frame, and ensure the neatness and beauty of the fifth facade to the maximum extent; Sponge city: achieve the effective management and utilization of rainwater through roof garden, permeable pavement, rain garden and other energy-saving measures to effectively implement the concept of sustainable design.
