In alignment with the philosophy of “complete harmony without obstruction”, the museum’s spatial layout has been thoughtfully reconfigured. It transforms the previously numerous and stark square pillars by softening their geometry and adopting rounded embellishments that harmonize with various spatial functions. Arcs are used to unify and reshape different functional areas and passageways, creating a captivating visual structure within the architecture. Diagonal design elements are partially implemented to extend the visual perception and break through the height restrictions of the space. This approach, through the careful intersection of lines and surfaces, resonates well with the original block form. In the creation of the interior environment, the design embraces the legacy of Eastern aesthetics to convert elements of naturalism into a modern articulation of cultural art and lifestyle. Select materials, like richly textured wood and stone, are paired with dedicated lighting fixtures to shed the former space’s cool and dark ambiance and reconfigure the interplay between the exhibition space and its art pieces. This revitalization fosters a vibrant dialogue between the indoor space and the outdoor surroundings, significantly uplifting the experience of the calligraphy and painting display area.
