Gold Winner – Luminous Eclipse | VS MUSES LAB

Luminous Eclipse is a modern residential interior designed to express poetic spatial flow, material tactility, and the gentle brilliance of layered light. Situated in a high-rise apartment, the project was developed without altering the original layout. The clients’ core request was to avoid a singular, wall-fixed living arrangement. They envisioned a central circulation system that would enhance the fluidity and intimacy of the home, encouraging interaction between spaces and family members.

To fulfill this, a custom TV wall was designed as a low-height centerpiece in the heart of the public zone. It serves not only as a media wall but also as a spatial anchor, dividing the living and dining areas while allowing for continuous looped movement. This open configuration eliminates rigid zoning and encourages a sense of shared presence.

The material palette focuses on the rich interplay of wood, stone, and titanium plated metal. Warm wood veneer softens the vertical surfaces and conceals ample storage. Natural marble is used strategically to create dramatic surfaces in the foyer and dining area. Brushed metal elements reflect ambient light subtly, contributing to visual depth and elegance. Mirror ceilings were introduced to expand vertical perception and to diffuse light reflections gently throughout the space.

Lighting plays an architectural role in the design. Soft cove lighting, embedded shelf lights, and illuminated vertical elements create a layered lighting environment. At the entry, a translucent marble column glows from within, acting as both sculpture and light source. This luminous presence inspired the project’s name, evoking the image of a solar eclipse in balance between darkness and radiance.

In the private quarters, the master bedroom features a rare stone wall constructed of layered slate fragments. The installation required technical precision, as each stone is heavy and uneven. A hidden steel subframe was engineered to distribute the weight across the structural slab, allowing the wall to appear natural while remaining secure. The result is a monolithic, tactile expression of serenity.

Throughout the residence, design decisions prioritize both form and function. Floating cabinets appear weightless yet are supported by concealed steel frames. A vapor fireplace near the entry introduces a hotel-like ambiance while incorporating thoughtful protection against moisture through stainless steel reinforcements.

Color tones remain restrained and calming, consisting primarily of neutral grays, soft whites, and muted earth tones. The space avoids decorative excess in favor of elemental purity and textural richness. Every transition, from furniture to ceiling details, is resolved with minimalist precision. The project exemplifies how a modestly sized apartment can be transformed into a sculptural and immersive living environment. Luminous Eclipse blends luxurious materials, clean lines, and spatial fluidity into a cohesive sensory experience. It is not only a response to client needs, but a quiet celebration of natural elements, urban calm, and architectural clarity.
