1. Inspired by local Linpan settlements, with a layout embraced by local context
The overall layout is inspired Linpan, traditional rural communities on the plain region of Sichuan. Externally, it responds to the urban landscape resources and integrates with the surrounding mountains, rivers, fields, and forests to create a modest urban interface and a tranquil ecological environment suitable for health wellness. Internally, it creates landscape courtyards to offer a peaceful and idyllic healthcare paradise.
2. Two phases of construction, and separation of dynamic and quiet zones
Phase I is set at the southeast corner and Phase II is at the northwest corner, each with independent access. Through an independent management approach, the two phases can be controlled for both independence and unity based on a unified planning platform. Additionally, the health center and the nursing center are located on the southeast side of the site near the landscape, while the operational support rooms and cultural and sports facilities are placed on the west and northwest sides, forming a quiet southeast and dynamic northwest zones.
3.Terraced building with river and mountain views
The design adopts a terraced building form from east to south to west, facing the Lianhua River and the premium landscape to the southeast, with a distant view of Xianglu Mountain. The gaps between the buildings form visual corridors that bring the landscape into the site, thus making full use of the surrounding resources and striking a humble interaction and dialogue with the landscape. The buildings boast the river view from the terraces and the mountains from afar.
4. A combination of halls and corridors, three separated circulations
The inpatient department of the health service center and the bedrooms of the nursing center are designed in a way that features a combination of public activity halls and living corridors with outdoor viewing terraces. Vehicles enter from the northwest corner and go into the underground garage. The circulation of patients and the elderly is arranged in the vital position, followed by that of doctors and nurses. The waste exits are positioned at northwest corners, achieving a clear separation of pedestrians and vehicles, as well as the separation between uncontaminated and contaminated circulations.
5. Dynamic curves and a warm ambiance The entire architectural design adopts a concise modern style, utilizing linear spaces and horizontal lines on the facade, as well as edge chamfering. This makes the entire circular, linear terraced building complex more graceful and fluid, creating a gentle and soft sensory experience. This formal design caters to the physiological characteristics and psychological needs of the elderly and patients, responding to the humanized design features.
