The footbridge is located in the Nanshan District’s Houhai Center, belonging to the BC area of the Shenzhen Bay Cultural
Plaza. Due to its unique position in the “core cultural facilities zone in high-density urban space,” one of the goals of this area
is to achieve higher traffic efficiency. The design of the footbridge aims to create a high-quality urban-ecological walking
experience while balancing landscape, practicality, and experiential aspects.

The Shenzhen Bay Cultural Plaza footbridge is designed through non-traditional architectural means, which break through
the constraints of complex spaces on bridge. By combining functionality with structure, it achieves a balance between
aesthetics and practical needs while maintaining coherence with the overall style of surrounding buildings.
As part of the future urban commercial development’s important axis, this project creates organically spreading green urban
veins with its “organic structure, site-specific design solutions, material selection that balances aesthetics and innovation, and
efficient structural system.” The ” urban green veins ” optimize the pedestrian experience while beautifying the urban space,
adding a humanistic touch to the Shenzhen Bay Cultural Plaza, which integrates design and technology seamlessly.
