HATCH Architects, in collaboration with ZEEKR, has unveiled their sixth flagship ZEEKR Center in Chongqing, a landmark at the Luhai International Center by the Jialing River. The expansive 1200-square-meter store is HATCH’s largest design to date, featuring a distinctive “U” shaped glass facade that evokes the image of waves kissing the shore, symbolizing ZEEKR’s innovative spirit and leadership in the era.

The design team tackled two main challenges: maximizing the iconic glass facade to integrate with the landscape for an exceptional display and experience, and planning a layout that conceals fragmented architectural elements for smooth movement and an open visual effect. The two “U” shaped areas are cleverly divided into two zones: one for car display and the other as ZEEKR’s “Urban Living Room,” complete with a bar, forum, negotiation rooms, and meeting rooms, all bathed in natural light and scenic views.
Inspired by Chongqing’s nickname “Fog Capital” and the flowing Jialing River, the design integrates local elements with the theme “Mist of the Jialing River.” Natural earth tones on walls and floors are complemented by flexible light strips that mimic river mist, creating an echo with the scenery outside. The RGBW lighting system in the ZEEKR Lounge adjusts the light and shadow atmosphere throughout the day, offering a calm white light for daytime efficiency and a warm glow for evening relaxation. The “Urban Living Room” of the Chongqing ZEEKR Center responds to the city’s hazy river mist with soft curves and light and shadow, maintaining a pioneering spirit while providing comfort and warmth. The superior location offers rich possibilities for space creation, giving visitors an intimate experience. The forum area, with adjustable semi-transparent curtains for privacy, can accommodate up to 30 people and reflects the artistic conception of the river mist. Private areas like meeting rooms, negotiation rooms, and leisure spaces cater to various business negotiations or small activities. A thoughtfully included mother and baby room provides a tranquil space for families. The center upholds ZEEKR’s brand positioning as “exquisite,” “trendy,” and “technological,” with a design that is both innovative and inviting, in harmony with the city’s hazy river mist.
