With Lake Egret at the center, the Boundless Art Gallery Restaurant & Café covers a total area of 3150 sqm while facing the undulating terrain and mountains at the back. The project joins together art and nature alongside with diverse culture, establishing a palace of aesthetic. Glancing from a distance, the winding and powerful lines of the form, filled with strength and tension, grows vividly against the surrounding greens; as if it breaks through the air and rides above the clouds, like how Ouyang Xiu portrays such scenery in his work“The Tune of Measures at Court: The Pingshan Hall”.

Within the emotions of architecture and the temperament of space, art has always been part of different dimension, adding vitality in to the spaces: it spans through time and crosses between regions and cultures, bringing together freedom and innovation.
Architecture is rational. Space is perceptual. Art resides between as a mediator, an implicit emotional connection outside the space, touching feelings and inspiring thinking. Integration of art and environment creates a unique cultural experience and aesthetic value of diversity.
Based on the existing steel structure, systematic design and reform has been conducted on the exterior façade, structure, and interior spaces. The facade materials and lighting has been
adjusted accordingly in order to achieve unprecedented purity and consistency between indoor and outdoor spaces. Landscaping in the atrium establishes a visual focus that allows for a completed view every step along the interior space. The walk along the terrace is even more
surprising when looking down, The mirrored still water contrasts with the flowing water, the
natural light shining down allows reflections to constantly change throughout the day, painting
a picture of four endlessly changing seasons.
The white box at the entrance coffee bar intersects with the building while smoothly extending
from the indoor to the outdoor space, allowing light to peek through the gaps.
Gray is like the lasting history and white is the firmness and indestructibility; the two tones
intertwines as if conducting a dialogue, quietly telling the contemporary temperament of
simplicity, pureness, and silence.
The classic language of concrete and the rough patterns of the architectural space manifests
aesthetic thinking and artistic spirit, allowing emotional resonance between visitors and the artworks. Such complicated experience of “Presence” gradually fades as one enters the inner courtyard. With the transitions of light, the philosophical atmosphere of the art gallery becomes fully expressed within the dining environment.
