The Garden Group’s Worldview Visualized in Space
The client, Garden Group, is a company primarily engaged in managing leisure and amusement facilities across Japan. This project focuses on the interior design of their newly constructed headquarters office. Two main themes were set during the design process. The first theme is the symbiosis with “greenery” to embody the company’s name, “Garden.” The entrance hall features a full-height green wall to create a space reflecting the company’s identity. The Urawa Garden Building, where the headquarters is located, is set back from road boundaries on three sides, creating a tranquil garden space for visitors. Green walls are planned as focal points for each approach in the exterior and landscaping, connecting architectural elements with the interior, linking the greenery, and leading to lush terrace spaces (gardens).

The second theme is coexistence with art. The office showcases works by globally renowned artists such as Lee Ufan and Jim Dine, offering a unique experience for visitors and employees. Paintings and sculptures throughout the interior create a museum-like atmosphere, enhancing inspiration and fostering new value in daily work. This aligns with the company’s “Vision Cycle” philosophy.
