In the heart of Sardinia mountains, in Dorgali, where the artisans tradition is still strong, the replacement of an obsolete bus shelter became the opportunity to create a work of architecture, which has seen close collaboration between designers, administration and local workers, setting a build quality and social constructive example.

The device, a regular volume of Corten steel and wood, is placed on the edge of a cliff overlooking the valley: a lookout establishing a visual and relational dialogue between road, community and landscape. The wooden chairs, a work of the BAM master craftsmen, are placed to encourage socialization in a place of informal break, where things can happen. The timeless and dynamic nature of the materials, able to interplay with time and situations, reflects the features of the place, a site for dialogue. A dialogue between modernity and tradition, visible also in the details and fine decoration which put a contemporary twist on the local traditional patterns.
Opera: Nel cuore montano della Sardegna, a Dorgali, dove è ancora forte la tradizione artigiana sarda, la sostituzione di una pensilina di fermata per gli autobus obsoleta, è stata l’occasione per realizzare una piccola opera di architettura, che ha visto la stretta collaborazione tra progettista, amministrazione e maestranze locali, verso un lavoro di qualità costruttiva e sociale.
Il dispositivo, un volume regolare di corten e legno, è collocato ai bordi di una scarpata affacciata sulla valle: un mirador che stabilisce un dialogo visivo e relazionale tra strada, comunità e paesaggio. Le sedute d’autore, realizzate dai maestri artigiani di BAM, sono disposte per favorire la socialità nell’attesa in un nuovo luogo di qualità informale, dove le cose possono accadere.
Il carattere atemporale e dinamico dei materiali, capace di dialogare col tempo e le situazioni, riflette quello del luogo, come nelle misurate opere di dettaglio e decoro che rielaborano in modo contemporaneo i motivi dell’artigianato locale
