Xili Integrated Transport Hub is Shenzhen’s future-city station in the heart of the urban city centre. The station is located in Shenzhen’s Xili district and is a major station that sees the coming together of several significant modes of transportation – high speed rail, intercity rail, metro, buses, taxi, ride-hailing services, and private cars. The design ambition sets off to enhance the transport infrastructure of the Greater Bay Area. The project’s combination of large-scale transportation engineering into an urban area with high-density property development is unique. The successful realisation of the project presents major design challenges and requires careful consideration of both the urban and human scales. Our ambition is to harmoniously integrate the urban systems into a new form of pioneering transport-city design that will act as a leading precedent for future high-density urban developments around the world.

The seamless integration of the high-speed rail and various metro lines will create a world-class transport interchange and landmark in both the new Xili Financial Business District and the city of Shenzhen. The transport hub will act as a catalyst for the growth of the new urban district encouraging it to become a regional hub and prime destination for living, leisure and work.
Xili Integrated Transport Hub makes reference to the “合” Chinese character as a concept idea that symbolises the meeting of live/work and nature/urban and the symbiotic relationships that Xili will cultivate. The Hub will play a fundamental role in the transport district as a point of convergence within the region. The seamless fusion of urban and natural elements will create a vibrant mixed-use environment where business and leisure co-exist and enhance the livability of the district.
