A Haven of Calm in the Heart of the Airport: From the moment visitors step into the hotel’s entrance, they are immersed in an atmosphere of wonder and tranquility. The double-height lobby is designed to impress and pay homage to the aquifers of the Valley of Mexico. This space not only captivates visually but also offers a sense of spaciousness and serenity, essential for travelers looking to relax before or after a flight.
Natural Inspiration in the Valley of Mexico Carpets: Carpets, fundamental elements of interior design, tell a unique story at the NH Collection Hotel. Inspired by the aquifers of the Valley of Mexico, their patterns and colors evoke the richness of the region’s water resources. Walking on these carpets is like walking on the natural history of Mexico.
Authenticity through Regional Materials and Traditional Textiles: The furniture used in the hotel’s common areas is crafted from indigenous materials, such as local wood and volcanic stone, that highlight the authenticity of the design. The cushions and textiles incorporated are inspired by Mexico’s rich textile tradition, displaying colors and patterns that reflect the country’s cultural diversity. This meticulous attention to detail brings warmth and authenticity to every corner of the hotel.
The Emblematic Topographical Mural: The NH Hotel lobby houses an impressive mural that represents the topographical layout of the Valley of Mexico. Beyond being a work of art, this mural is a visual representation of the country’s natural beauty. It serves as a constant reminder of Mexico’s geographical richness and its deep connection with nature.
Celebrating Cultural Richness: The NH Hotel goes beyond aesthetics to celebrate Mexico’s cultural richness, it incorporates accessories and decorative elements, created by various Mexican communities, that enrich the interior design with layers of meaning and authenticity. This choice represents a contemporary way of honoring local traditions and craftsmanship.
A Journey through Mexico in Black and White: Even the hallways leading to the rooms surprise guests. They are adorned with black and white photographs from all over Mexico that capture small details and close-ups of iconic places and everyday scenes. This approach creates a visual and emotional connection with Mexico’s geographical and cultural diversity.
In Conclusion, an Extraordinary Refuge at the Airport: The NH Collection Hotel in Terminal 2 of Mexico City’s Airport is a testament to the transformative power of interior design. Every element, from the carpets inspired by local geography to the artisanal accessories and the topographical mural, comes together to offer a unique experience that transports guests to a world of beauty and authenticity. This hotel is more than just a place to rest; it is a design oasis amidst the airport hustle and bustle, elegantly and contemporarily celebrating Mexico’s richness. Our vision is to make this project a benchmark for hotel design, setting the standard for future developments of its kind.
