2023 GFD 🏆 Awards

Silver Winner – Landscape Design Project of Xi’an Financial Innovation Center | Shanghai Big Dipper Landscape Design Engineering Co., LTD + Shanghai Gudi Landscape Planning and Design Co., LTD

At the crossroads of the Xi’an Economic and Technological Development Zone, Zhuhong Road and Fengcheng Road No.2. The project offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside and is next to Hancheng Lake Park to the west. According to the present state of the local area of the Northern Suburbs Economic Development Zone, the site is a part of the Weiyang District in Xi’an’s central business district. We have made an effort to include ecological park characteristics into the site’s landscape and have presented the “forest valley garden, goblet flowing” idea for landscaping in order to create a high-end office garden with quality and landmarks, art and culture, ecology, and nature. Qushui flows are taken from ancient writers’ poetry, but we have interpreted the water in a more contemporary fashion so that the site’s narrow water system flows in and out of the garden.

The ecological landscape design of each building’s podium area is created using a logical approach to landscape design, reflecting the park’s ecological and upscale office image through a high-quality landscape effect, where office and business coexist without interfering. Additionally, the coordination of its work with the many disciplines, such as construction, architecture and interior, must be completely taken into account in order to produce a three-dimensional forest garden.

As a green ribbon connecting the north and south landscape nodes, the municipal green belt on the west side of the city works in perfect harmony with the urban greenway to create an urban landscape belt. It also serves as a window for the city park, resulting in a new urbanist landscape style. In order to provide room for planting and to foster favorable circumstances for the landscape, the high-rise building’s platform is constructed with a load reserve and a partial lowering of the slab. An organic, green, and three-dimensional sky garden is created through the multi-level roof garden design. We envision a future in which users of our woodland garden might work, study, and live contentedly there.
